This release features two of Wanda Jackson’s finest albums from her earliest and most inspired years, both of which were originally released on Capitol Records: Rockin’ with Wanda! (1960), and There’s a Party Goin’ On (1959). These masterpieces helped define the exact nature of early rock & roll and contain several hits that helped establish Jackson as the Queen of Rockabilly, such as “Fujiyama Mama”, “Hard Headed Woman”, “I Gotta Know”, “There’s a Party Goin’ On” and “Mean Mean Man”, among others.
These formidable albums have been packaged together in this very special collector’s edition, which also contains 6 bonus tracks from the same period, including smash hits such as “(Let’s Have a) Party”, “Riot on Cell Block #9”, and “Money Honey”. She’s equally bold and convincing on Little Richard’s “Slippin’ and Slidin’”.
