Ranking Ann: Something Fishy Going On (Vinyl LP)
Tax included.
Deadly deejay styles from the original micwoman Ranking Ann, collaborating with Mad Professor once again, released a year after the excellent A Slice Of English Toast in 1983.
This (in our opinion even better) follow up was served up via his Ariwa imprint in the Orwellian year of 1984 - and it shows in the extra-paranoid lyrics and the themes that come up in some of the songs - from Pentagon to Soviet Union... amongst other themes such as poverty and 'immigration problems' under Tory rule (sound familiar?) - as well as more usual themes such as in 'Stop Romance In The Dance' of course.
All trainspotters take note of a nice flip by Ranking Ann of Billy Boyo's sleazy lyrics on early 80s Volcano Posse hit 'One Spliff A Day' too.
- Something Fishy Going On
- Call Me Ranking Ann
- Fifty Ways
- Stop Romance Inna Dance
