Lido Pimienta is unafraid to explore the depths of her creativity. After last year's La Belleza, a transcendent new album created in conversation with European classical music and her personal life, Lido steps into a new revolt rhythm. The new album's title is a playful portmanteau of the words "Caribe" and "Enya", a nod to the mysterious Irish singer Enya, whom Pimienta is a fan of. The esoteric figure of Enya has loomed over Pimienta, who listens to her music to concentrate while writing. Often compared to Björk and Natalia Lafourcade in part due to the scope, generation and ambition of her work, Pimienta prefers to align herself with the legendarily reclusive ambient diva before anyone else.

On Caribenya, Lido is a modern master whose music is sharpened by her soaring vocals. It is an album that relies on joyous resistance, on the moments of escape on the dancefloors and beaches and in the living rooms of our loved ones as the world burns. An iconoclast, she creates music and fine art drawn from her experience as a Caribbean woman from Colombia.
