Johnny Burnette & The Rock 'N Roll Trio: Johnny Burnette & The Rock 'N Roll Trio (Vinyl LP)

One of Rock & Roll/Rockabilly’s ‘Holy Grail’ releases, the LP Johnny Burnette & The Rock 'N Roll Trio was originally issued in the U.S. on the Coral label, in December 1956. It was a near-perfect body of work, on which the basic Trio of Johnny & Dorsey Burnette and Paul Burlison, were famously augmented by Nashville ‘A’ Team guitarist Grady Martin, who played those memorable licks and solos.

They’d also recorded sufficient material for a second album, Tear It Up, built around its blistering title track, which belatedly appeared in the U.K. (although not the U.S.) in 1969.
