Sepultura: Arise (CD)

Sepultura revisit this raucous classic. Arise is considered to be Sepultura's finest hour by long-time devotees. The first of the group's unholy trinity of Arise, Chaos AD and Roots, it was the first release to bridge the gap between totally brutal, primitive death thrash as practiced by the group up to that point and the new, crystal '90's' death metal sound that the would go on to define them.

What sets this record apart from Beneath The Remains for example is the stellar songwriting and gut-wrenching riffs. For a few years in the early 90s Sepultura were on a par with Slayer and Arise is their testament to that.
