Kirchin, Basil & John Coleman: Mind On The Run - The Music Of (Vinyl LP)

Mind on the Run by Basil Kirchin and fellow composer/arranger John Coleman sees an official reissue through We Are Busy Bodies. The album is one of six albums that Kirchin composed for De Wolfe, and one of four that he released in 1966.

Starting his professional career at the age of 13 as a drummer in his father's big band, Kirchin would go on to go on to a storied career that saw him learn how to experiment and manipulate recorded sound and even be cited as an influential figure in ambient music. He is thought to be a forgotten genius of post-war British music, was an influential jazz drummer, creative free-spirit and pioneer of Musique Concrète.

Kirchin wrote a lot of albums, Mind on the Run is one of the most representative Library record he wrote with John Coleman. A milestone in British avant garde.
